►UDA Dance LA Gumbo Chapter 5031 will celebrate National ballroom Dance Week at Clearview Mall on Saturday, September 17, from 11 AM until 2:00 PM. Exhibitons are welcome to sign up with Jennifer Beasley at 504-258-2220 or by email, email@example.com, no later than Thursday September 15. Must bring own music, and arrive at the Mall by 10:30 AM on Saturday.
►LA Gumbo Metairie Dance, Sunday, September 18, 1:30-5:00 pm at Jefferson Orleans North in Metairie. Free Foxtrot dance lesson Margaret Lancaster beginning at 1:30 which is free with admission.
►The chapter has purchased a Framed 22"x33" silk screened print from the George Rodrigue Foundation. Click here to open photo of print. Raffle tickets are on sale for $10 each with 2000 tickets available. The raffle is to benefit the Whistle Stop Dancing Classrooms Program that Carrie Delorge, Wayne LeBoeuf, and Joycelyn Perry are working with in Terrebonne Parish. The raffle sales will end September 11 and the drawing will be held at our dance on Sunday, September18, which is also the beginning of National Ballroom Dance Week.

►Volunteers Needed: Are any of you interested dancing at retirement communities/nursing homes/community events in our area. Our area spans across Baton Rouge, Covington, Houma and New Orleans? We hope to announce a schedule for future events soon. There are 3 retirement communities requesting we dance for their residence in Mandeville for no dates have been set. No experience necessary, only a good heart. Please consider participating. ►Diana, chapter vice president visited with George and Karan Barton on January 17th and presented them with a check for $1,000 from donations still arriving. Donations to our chapter to help cover Karan's expenses associated with her spinal cord injury now total over $14,000. There needs are great and long term. You may still send donations to:
